Therefore, ginseng is widely used to reduce elevated cholesterol and to control blood pressure. It also helps reduce tension, anxiety, and fear, while being effective against insomnia. Ginseng also improves memory and accelerates the understanding and cognitive brain function. It is used for greater strength and durability and is believed to have a rejuvenating effect on the body. It is also quite famous for being one of the natural aphrodisiacs.

Ginseng is also used to reduce the harmful effects of radiation. Thus it is recommended for chemotherapy patients, especially when it come to the recovery of bone marrow after transplantation. Studies have shown excellent results in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, with over 20% reduction in blood glucose levels after ingesting a meal rich in sugar. Ginseng Application

It can take for ginseng seeds to mature from one to five years, during which time it develops leaves with greenish-white flowers which later produce red berries. As an herbal remedy, it is usually used in the form of a root to create a natural extract that can then be transformed and consumed as a powder, a capsule, liquid extract or tea. The recommended daily dose of ginseng is two tablespoons of liquid tincture 3 times a day. In the form of powder, two to four grams are to be ingested daily. It is, however, not recommended to be consumed during pregnancy and lactation period.
